1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 L. Dean Cole of Divernon, Illinois, are celebrating the
8 fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Loyal Dean Cole and Irene Lois Noack were united
10 in holy matrimony on October 23, 1952 at Perry Christian
11 Church in Perry, Iowa; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of four children,
13 Stephen, Karla, Ronald, and Linda; and the grandparents of 10
14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and
15 WHEREAS, Dean and Irene Cole will celebrate their
16 fiftieth wedding anniversary surrounded by family and friends
17 on October 23, 2002; and
18 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
19 highest plateaus when a couple such as Dean and Irene Cole
20 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
21 WHEREAS, Dean and Irene Cole stand as examples of the
22 best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
23 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
24 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
25 difference in today's world; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Dean and Irene Cole on the occasion of their
29 fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
30 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children,

1 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and rich in
2 friendships; and that we wish them happiness and good health
3 in the future; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Dean and Irene Cole as an expression of our
6 respect and esteem.
