92_HR0680 LRB9216094RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to 4 the family and friends of Ronald "Ronnie" Jones, who passed 5 away on November 11, 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Born on December 2, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, 7 Ronald Jones was the son of the late Mark and Christine 8 Jones; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Jones graduated in 1967 from Drake High 10 School in Chicago, where he majored in Architecture; he was 11 actively employed for over 19 years at Ford Motor Company as 12 a Machinist; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Jones' love of Architecture and creating 14 beautiful things kept him busy all over Chicago; he always 15 exhibited exceptional artistic talent, most notably at the 16 age of 12 when his outstanding talent took on added 17 dimensions with amazing interpretive maturity and an uncanny 18 ability to take an idea from conception to completion; he 19 could draw, sketch, shoot, recreate, and even build whatever 20 needed to be done with such diverse materials as from wood, 21 plastic, clay, glass, and even stone; no challenge was too 22 difficult for him to achieve; and 23 WHEREAS, Mr. Jones met "the love of his life", Deborah 24 Donaldson in 1966; they were married on February 25, 1971; he 25 was deeply devoted to his wife and four children; he was 26 equally devoted to his extended family, "The Donaldsons" who 27 adopted him as their brother; his mother-in-law, the late 28 Sophia Donaldson, developed a special fondness for him 29 because of his patience and gentleness; Mr. Jones' talents 30 with carpentry were developed by his father-in-law, the late 31 Alfred Donaldson, Sr., who worked with him in many projects 32 including: tuck pointing, painting, plumbing, and -2- LRB9216094RHrh 1 installation of recreational rooms; and 2 WHEREAS, The death of Ronald Jones will be deeply felt by 3 all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 30 years, 4 Deborah; his children, Ronald, Jr., Talitha, Christopher, and 5 Sophia; his brothers; his sister; his uncle; his 6 sisters-in-law; his brothers-in-law; and his co-workers and 7 many friends; therefore, be it 8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 9 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 10 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Ronald 11 Jones of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further 12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 13 presented to the family of Ronald Jones with our sincere 14 condolences.
