92_HR0660 LRB9215640BHbh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are honored to recognize significant events 4 in the lives of the people of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Betty Callahan 6 of Clinton, Illinois recently celebrated the one-hundredth 7 anniversary of her birth at an open house organized by her 8 granddaughters, Jill Hull and Bonnie Cooper; and 9 WHEREAS, Ms. Callahan was born January 18, 1902, and 10 attended beauty school in Chicago, Illinois in 1922; and 11 WHEREAS, Ms. Callahan has led an exciting and fruitful 12 life, including a visit to the 1940 New York World's Fair and 13 a date with Al Capone; and 14 WHEREAS, Ms. Callahan has stayed in Clinton for most of 15 her life, also living in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Hemit, 16 California; and 17 WHEREAS, Ms. Callahan, who lives in her own home and does 18 her own cooking and housework, attributes her longevity and 19 good health to her cheerful attitude and faith in God, and 20 possibly to the warm glass of milk she drinks before bed each 21 night; therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 23 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 24 we congratulate Betty Callahan on the occasion of her 100th 25 birthday and extend to Ms. Callahan our sincere best wishes 26 for the future; and be it further 27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 28 presented to Betty Callahan as an expression of our respect 29 and esteem.
