1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Leroy Kowalski
6 has retired from the Chicago Fire Department after 35 years
7 of service; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Kowalski began his career with the Chicago
9 Fire Department on October 16, 1966, and at the time of his
10 retirement in November, 2001, he served as Lieutenant of
11 Truck Company 9; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Kowalski throughout his career has had the
13 love and support of his wife, Carol, his children, John and
14 Katherine, and his grandchildren Erick and Kristen; and
15 WHEREAS, Mr. Kowalski will be best remembered as the
16 esteemed "Mayor of Wilson Avenue"; and
17 WHEREAS, Members of the Chicago Fire Department will
18 celebrate the service of Leroy Kowalski at a retirement party
19 on February 20, 2002; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate Leroy Kowalski on his retirement after 35
23 years of dedication and service to the Chicago Fire
24 Department; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Leroy Kowalski as an expression of our esteem.
