1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Michael Bunyon
6 has retired from the Chicago Fire Department after 32 years
7 of service; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Bunyon began his career with the Chicago
9 Fire Department on February 16, 1969, and at the time of his
10 retirement in April, 2001, he served as the Captain of Engine
11 79; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Bunyon throughout his career has had the
13 love and support of his wife of 22 years, Peggy, and his
14 children, James, Kristen, and Kari; and
15 WHEREAS, Mr. Bunyon served the members of the Chicago
16 Fire Fighters Union Local 2 in many capacities during his
17 career, most notably as an elected offical to Local 2's
18 Executive Board; in his capacity as 3rd District Business
19 Agent, he represented Local 2 members from Chicago's
20 lakefront on the east to O'Hare International Airport on the
21 west with their best interests always in the forefront; and
22 WHEREAS, Members of the Chicago Fire Department will
23 celebrate the service of Michael Bunyon at a retirement party
24 on February 20, 2002; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate Michael Bunyon on his retirement after 32
28 years of dedication and service to the Chicago Fire
29 Department; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

1 presented to Michael Bunyon as an expression of our esteem.
