1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Bud and
7 Marinell Napier of Schaumburg, Illinois will celebrate the
8 50th anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Bud and Marinell Napier were united in holy
10 matrimony on September 5, 1951 at St. Stanislaus Kostka in
11 Chicago, Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, Both Bud and Marinell Napier were born in
13 Chicago; they have resided in Schaumburg, Illinois for 38
14 years; and
15 WHEREAS, Bud served for 21 years in the United States
16 Military; he served for 3 and one-half years in France and 3
17 years in Germany, where he and Marinell adopted their 2
18 children, Donna and Richard; and
19 WHEREAS, Bud and Marinell Napier are the loving
20 grandparents of Michael, Brian, Justin, Richard, and
21 Courtney; and
22 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
23 highest plateaus when a couple such as Bud and Marinell
24 Napier celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
25 WHEREAS, Bud and Marinell Napier stand as examples of the
26 best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
27 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
28 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
29 difference in today's world; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we congratulate Bud and Marinell Napier on the occasion of
3 their 50th wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
4 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
5 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
6 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
7 further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to Bud and Marinell Napier as an expression of our
10 respect and esteem.
