1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Dr. Charles A.
6 Klingsporn is retiring from his duties as Superintendent of
7 Riverside Brookfield Township High School at the end of the
8 2001 school year; and
9 WHEREAS, Dr. Charles A. Klingsporn received his
10 bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Biology at
11 Northern Illinois University in 1960 and his master's degree
12 in Commercial Teaching at the University of Illinois at
13 Champaign in 1967 and took accounting classes at Northwestern
14 University in 1964 and received his Ph.D. in Administration
15 and Policy Studies at Northwestern University in 1984; and
16 WHEREAS, Dr. Charles A. Klingsporn began his teaching
17 career at Community Consolidated School District 59 from 1960
18 through 1964 as a Junior High Physical Education teacher;
19 from 1965 through 1969, he served as a business education
20 teacher at Glenbrook South High School; from 1969 through
21 1971 he served as a Programmer-Analyst at Evanston High
22 School; from 1971 through 1975 he served as the Director of
23 Computer Services at New Trier High School; from 1976 through
24 1980 he served as the Administrative Assistant to the
25 Superintendent at New Trier High School; from 1980 through
26 1985 he served as the Director of Administration at New Trier
27 High School; from 1988 through 1990 he served as Adjunct
28 Professor at National Louis University; from 1985 through
29 1991 he served as Associate Superintendent at New Trier High
30 School; from 1990 to the present day he has served as Adjunct
31 Professor in the School Business Management Program at
32 Northern Illinois University; and from 1991 through 2001 he

1 has served as Superintendent at Riverside Brookfield High
2 School; thus serving as an educator for a total of forty
3 years; and
4 WHEREAS, Dr. Klingsporn has been affiliated with many
5 professional memberships including the American Association
6 of School Administrators, the Illinois Association of School
7 Administrators, the Illinois Association of School Business
8 Officials, and the American Education Finance Association; he
9 has also served as chair of the Ed Red Finance Committee in
10 1990 and 1991, as member of the Ed Red Executive Committee
11 from 1994 through 1995, and has served on the Resource Cost
12 Model Committee for the Illinois State Board of Education
13 from 1983 through 1984; in addition, he has taken part in the
14 Northern Illinois University School Business Management
15 Budgeting presentations; and
16 WHEREAS, Dr. Charles A. Klingsporn will be enjoying his
17 life after retirement with his wife, Virginia, their
18 children, Christine, Allen, Andrew, and Stephen, and their
19 grandchildren; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate Dr. Charles A. Klingsporn on his retirement
23 from his duties as Superintendent of Riverside Brookfield
24 Township High School, and we wish him well in all of his
25 future endeavors; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Dr. Charles A. Klingsporn as an expression of
28 our esteem.
