1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Ernest Maunu, Jr. of Ottawa, Illinois, will celebrate the
8 fortieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Ernest Maunu, Jr. and Helen Wolf were united in
10 holy matrimony on October 10, 1961 at the home of Judge L.K.
11 Blanchard in Washburn, Wisconsin; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Scott (wife,
13 Patty) Maunu, Kevin (wife, Lori) Maunu, Amy (husband, Jack)
14 Hill, and Melissa (husband, David) Peters; and the
15 grandparents of twelve wonderful grandchildren; and
16 WHEREAS, Ernest Maunu, Jr. is an
17 electrician/instrumentation technician for J.E. Merit
18 Constructors at Akzo Nobel in Morris, Illinois; Helen Maunu
19 is a homemaker; and
20 WHEREAS, Ernest Maunu, Jr. is the son of the late Ernest
21 and Helyn Maunu, Sr., and Helen Maunu is the daughter of the
22 late Roland and Dolly Wolf, Sr.; and
23 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
24 highest plateaus when a couple such as Ernest and Helen
25 Maunu, Jr. celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary; and
26 WHEREAS, Ernest and Helen Maunu, Jr. stand as examples of
27 the best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
28 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
29 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
30 difference in today's world; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate Ernest and Helen Maunu, Jr. on the occasion
4 of their fortieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them
5 for achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with
6 children and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that
7 we wish them happiness and good health in the future; and be
8 it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
