1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the history of organizations of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Lincolnway
6 Special Recreation Association is celebrating its 25th
7 anniversary of service to individuals with disabiliies on
8 July 1, 2001; and
9 WHEREAS, Lincolnway Special Recreation Association is a
10 program of adaptive recreation for individuals with
11 disabilities offered through a special cooperative agreement
12 that includes Frankfort, Mokena, New Lenox, and Peotone Park
13 Districts; and
14 WHEREAS, Lincolnway Special Recreation Association offers
15 a variety of programs for individuals from preschool through
16 adult who are in special education classes, sheltered
17 workshops, or who have recreational needs not met by regular
18 park district programs; and
19 WHEREAS, The primary purpose of Lincolnway Special
20 Recreation Association is to provide programs with a variety
21 of special needs; the programs are developed with the
22 intention of eliminating any leisure barriers and
23 facilitating the participant in developing a balance of
24 leisure and socialization skills, recreation resources and
25 opportunities, knowledge, and independence, provided in a
26 variety of settings; all together, the programs will
27 attribute to the participant's overall well-being in the
28 individual's leisure lifestyles; and
29 WHEREAS, Lincolnway Special Recreation Association serves
30 many populations, including the learning disabled, physically
31 impaired, E.M.H., T.M.H., individuals with behavior problems,

1 visually impaired individuals, those with multiple
2 disabilities, and those with additional special needs;
3 therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we congratulate Lincolnway Special Recreation Association on
7 the celebration of its 25th anniversary of service to
8 individuals with disabilities in the Frankfort, Mokena, New
9 Lenox, and Peotone communities; and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to Lincolnway Special Recreation Association as an
12 expression of our esteem.
