1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the history of organizations in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Decatur Council No. 577 of the Knights of
6 Columbus was chartered on May 12, 1901; and
7 WHEREAS, Council No. 577 has throughout the 100 years
8 served their church, order, parishes, families, community and
9 country with charity, unity, patriotism, and fraternally; and
10 WHEREAS, Members and families of Council No. 577 have
11 served their community with many charitable activities
12 including Special Olympics, Red Cross Blood Bank, and support
13 of the local Catholic High School; and
14 WHEREAS, Members of Council No. 577 have served in
15 positions of leadership in the Illinois State Council and the
16 Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus; and
17 WHEREAS, Council No. 577 will celebrate its 100th
18 Anniversary on May 11, 2001, with a Mass and Banquet and
19 begin a new century of service to God, country, and
20 community; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we congratulate Decatur Council No. 577 of the Knights of
24 Columbus on their century of service; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Decatur Council No. 577 of the Knights of
27 Columbus as an expression of our esteem.
