1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Carl N. Doerr became the Village of Lisle's
3 first Village Manager on October 8, 1973; and
4 WHEREAS, Mr. Doerr is the longest tenured Village Manager
5 in DuPage County; and
6 WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure as Village Manager, Mr.
7 Doerr served as a Trustee of the Village of Lisle from 1967
8 until 1973; and
9 WHEREAS, During his exemplary career of service, the
10 population of the Village of Lisle grew from approximately
11 8,428 in 1974 to more than 20,000 today; the Village staff
12 grew from 15 employees to 110, and the vision and wisdom of
13 Mr. Doerr successfully helped steer the Village during the
14 mid-1980's "construction boom" along the East/West Corporate
15 Corridor and the many residential areas of the Village; and
16 WHEREAS, Under Mr. Doerr's leadership and guidance, the
17 diverse and well-planned development of the Village now
18 includes industrial parks and a commercial research corridor,
19 a wide range of residential properties, and a water system
20 transitioned into Lake Michigan water; and
21 WHEREAS, One of Mr. Doerr's key responsibilities has been
22 that of Village Municipal Budget Officer, and he has achieved
23 a noteworthy record of financial security and virtually
24 debt-free stability; and
25 WHEREAS, Mr. Doerr's patriotic embrace of the values of
26 responsibility, leadership, trust, and honor are exemplified
27 in his great sense of pride, his strong work ethic, and his
28 dedication to serving the community; and
29 WHEREAS, Mr. Doerr, a lifelong resident of Lisle and
30 pillar of local government for more than three decades will

1 now embark on a well-earned retirement from his post as
2 Village Manager; and
3 WHEREAS, His lifetime of achievement serves as an
4 inspiration to all Illinois citizens; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7 we congratulate Carl N. Doerr on being the longest tenured
8 Village Manager in DuPage County; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to Mr. Carl N. Doerr as a symbol of recognition for
11 his many years of service.
