92_HR0075 LRB9208039KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to commend the men and women of the 4 Forest Park Fire Department for their hard work and 5 dedication to their community; and 6 WHEREAS, An early morning fire on January 4, 2001, could 7 have been tragic for former park district commissioner and 8 village commissioner John Booth and his wife, Maureen; As 9 police arrived on the scene they found Mr. Booth hanging 10 outside of a window, his wife trapped inside; and 11 WHEREAS, Through the quick response of the police, both 12 lives were saved that morning; the fire department had just 13 responded to a call at the Waldheim Cemetery storage and 14 maintenance building when they received the call to the Booth 15 home; and 16 WHEREAS, The quick response by the Forest Park Fire 17 Department resulted in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Booth 18 sustaining very little fire damage; and 19 WHEREAS, This devotion to the lives of others makes the 20 men and women of the Forest Park Fire Department worthy of 21 honor; therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 23 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 24 we congratulate the men and women of the Forest Park Fire 25 Department for their hard work and devotion, especially in 26 saving the lives and property of Mr. and Mrs. John Booth; and 27 be it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to Fire Chief Tim Rebor.
