1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body wish to acknowledge the
3 Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc., and its work to
4 improve the quality of life for children at risk; and
5 WHEREAS, The Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc., is an
6 organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism,
7 developing the potential of women, and improving communities
8 through the effective action and leadership of trained
9 volunteers; its purpose is exclusively educational and
10 charitable; and
11 WHEREAS, With an emphasis on prevention and
12 rehabilitative services, the projects supported by the League
13 touch on a wide range of needs within the community; the
14 projects supported by the League's membership include:
15 ChildServ; Glenwood School for Boys; DuPage Children's
16 Museum; Kids on the Block; Parents Pantry; Opportunity
17 Knocks; and the Story Wizards; and
18 WHEREAS, Women from DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will
19 Counties of Illinois serve as volunteers; these women provide
20 hours of valuable support and expertise in their local
21 communities; membership is open to women of all races,
22 religions, nationalities, sexual orientations, or
23 disabilities who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to
24 volunteerism; and
25 WHEREAS, The current officers of the Junior League of
26 Greater DuKane include, Kathryn Gould, JoAnn Green, Andrea
27 Marvel, Tricia Brown, JoEllen Jacobs, Beth Benck, Cindy
28 Moore, Gabriela Pino, Julie Renehan, Susannah Lesswing, and
29 Liz Murer;and
30 WHEREAS, A celebration will be held on February 24, 2001
31 at the annual Winterflight Gala, "LeCirque d'Hiver", where

1 proclamations will be presented to the organization during an
2 awards ceremony attended by over 400 patrons from the
3 community; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we congratulate the Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc.,
7 for the work it has performed, and we applaud the
8 volunteerism provided by its members; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc.
