1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 6023
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 6023 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Animal Welfare Act is amended by adding
5 Section 6.6 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 605/6.6 new)
7 Sec. 6.6. Dog day care facilities.
8 (a) The Department shall adopt rules defining and
9 providing standards for dog day care facilities. The initial
10 rules concerning dog day care facilities shall be adopted
11 within one year after the effective date of this amendatory
12 Act of the 92nd General Assembly.
13 (b) In adopting the rules specified in subsection (a) of
14 this Section, the Department shall solicit recommendations
15 from a voluntary board comprised of, but not limited to, the
16 following members appointed by the Director:
17 (1) One member representing the Illinois Federation
18 of Humane Societies.
19 (2) One member representing the Illinois Veterinary
20 Medical Association.
21 (3) One member who is a dog day care facility
22 owner.

1 (4) Two members of the Department.
2 Section 99. Effective Date. This Act takes effect upon
3 becoming law.".
