1 AN ACT relating to insurance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
5 adding Section 356b.5 as follows:
6 (215 ILCS 5/356b.5 new)
7 Sec. 356b.5. Dependent coverage continuation. If a
8 policy of group or individual accident and health insurance
9 amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective
10 date of this amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly
11 provides that coverage of a dependent terminates upon the
12 attainment of a limiting age, the policy must provide that
13 upon notice to the insurer, within 30 days before the
14 attainment of the limiting age, the coverage for the
15 dependent may be extended for a period of 9 months.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
