1 AN ACT concerning veterans.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Disabled Veterans Housing Act is amended
5 by changing Section 1 as follows:
6 (330 ILCS 65/1) (from Ch. 126 1/2, par. 58)
7 Sec. 1. Any veteran of the military or naval service of
8 the United States who was a resident of this State at the
9 time he entered such service and who has been approved by the
10 Administrator of Veterans' Affairs for assistance under
11 Chapter 21 of Title 38, United States Code, as now or
12 hereafter amended, shall be entitled to receive assistance
13 under this Act for the purpose of acquiring within this State
14 or without this State, where due to service-connected
15 disabilities and upon the advice or recommendation of a duly
16 recognized physician of the Veterans Administration in order
17 to protect the health of the veteran, the such veteran cannot
18 reside in this State, a suitable dwelling unit with special
19 fixtures or movable facilities made necessary by the
20 veteran's permanent and total service-connected disability.
