1 AN ACT respecting education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
5 Section 14A-1 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/14A-1) (from Ch. 122, par. 14A-1)
7 Sec. 14A-1. Purpose. This enactment is for the purpose
8 of assisting and encouraging local school districts in the
9 development and improvement of an education program that will
10 increase the educational services of the public schools of
11 this State Illinois for gifted and talented children as
12 defined herein. Local school districts shall continue to
13 have the authority and responsibility to develop education
14 programs for gifted and talented children in response to
15 community needs.
