92_HB5304 LRB9211797DJgc 1 AN ACT in relation to elderly persons. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Respite Program Act is amended by 5 changing Section 5 as follows: 6 (320 ILCS 10/5) (from Ch. 23, par. 6205) 7 Sec. 5. Eligibility. The Department may establish 8 eligibility standards for respite services taking into 9 consideration the unique economic and social needs of the 10 population for whom they are to be provided. The population 11 identified for the purposes of this Act includes persons 12 suffering from Alzheimer's disease and who are 55 years of 13 age or older, or persons age 60 and older with an identified 14 service need. Priority mustshallbe given in all cases to 15 frail, abused or functionally disabled or cognitively 16 impaired adults. 17 (Source: P.A. 87-974.)
