Amend House Bill 4085 on page 2 by 3 replacing lines 2 through 6 with the following: 4 "(3) The utility's deferred payment plan may 5 provide that the customer can earn credit to be applied 6 to past-due bills by: 7 (A) working for a nonprofit community-based 8 organization; 9 (B) attending school in order to pass the 10 General Educational Development test; or 11 (C) some other option that allows customers to 12 earn credit to be applied to past-due bills."; and 13 on page 2, line 9, by changing "(a)" to "(a)."; and 14 on page 2 by inserting immediately below line 12 the 15 following: 16 "Funding for the deferred payment plan described in 17 paragraph (3) of this subsection may be provided by the 18 Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, the Department 19 of Employment Security, or by private or other public 20 sources."; and 21 on page 3 by replacing lines 2 through 6 with the following: 22 "(iv) the utility's deferred payment plan may -2- LRB9214318JSpcam02 1 provide that the customer can earn credit to be 2 applied to past-due bills by: 3 (A) working for a nonprofit community-based 4 organization; 5 (B) attending school in order to pass the 6 General Educational Development test; or 7 (C) some other option that allows customers to 8 earn credit to be applied to past-due bills."; and 9 on page 3 by inserting immediately below line 11 the 10 following: 11 "Funding for the deferred payment plan described in 12 item (iv) of this paragraph (1) may be provided by the 13 Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, the 14 Department of Employment Security, or by private or other 15 public sources.".
