92_HB3771enr HB3771 Enrolled LRB9212530BDdv 1 AN ACT concerning townships. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing 5 Section 255-5 as follows: 6 (60 ILCS 1/255-5) 7 Sec. 255-5. Transfer from road and bridge fund. Whenever 8 the road and bridge fund of any township in a county with a 9 population of 50,000500,000or more contains a balance no 10 longer needed for road and bridge purposes, occasioned by the 11 fact that the township no longer has any roads or bridges 12 under its jurisdiction, the voters of the township at an 13 annual township meeting or at a special township meeting 14 called for the purpose may, by resolution by a majority vote 15 of the voters present and voting on the resolution, transfer 16 the balance to the general township fund or to any other 17 township fund or funds. For a period of one year after the 18 effective date of this amendatory Act of the 92nd General 19 Assembly, the voters of a township at an annual township 20 meeting or at a special township meeting called for the 21 purpose may, by resolution by a majority vote of the voters 22 present and voting on the resolution, distribute funds from 23 the road and bridge fund to any township fund used for 24 construction or maintenance of sewage or water treatment 25 facilities. 26 (Source: Laws 1949, p. 1608; P.A. 88-62.)
