1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3703
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3703 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Illinois Nuclear Safety Preparedness Act
5 is amended by adding Section 8.5 as follows:
6 (420 ILCS 5/8.5 new)
7 Sec. 8.5 Potassium iodide. The Department shall accept
8 shipments of potassium iodide from the NRC in sufficient
9 quantities to allow for distribution to all local emergency
10 management agencies that serve those counties that have a
11 nuclear power generating facility and the counties adjacent
12 to those with nuclear power generating facilities.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.".
