1 AN ACT in relation to townships.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing
5 Section 205-45 as follows:
6 (60 ILCS 1/205-45)
7 Sec. 205-45. Proximity to highways and other public
8 grounds. A township availing itself of the provisions of this
9 Article, or a private utility company with the approval of
10 the highway commissioner, may, as a proper use of highways,
11 construct, maintain, alter, repair, and extend its pipes,
12 mains, ditches, conduits, sewers, and drains along, upon,
13 under, and across any highways, streets, alleys, or public
14 grounds in the township, but so as not to permanently
15 inconvenience the public use of those highways, streets,
16 alleys, or public grounds.
