1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3126
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3126 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT in relation to health."; and
5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
6 following:
7 "(305 ILCS 5/5-18 rep.)
8 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
9 repealing Section 5-18.
10 Section 10. The Communicable Disease Prevention Act is
11 amended by adding Section 2d as follows:
12 (410 ILCS 315/2d new)
13 Sec. 2d. The Illinois Department of Public Health may
14 pay for health insurance coverage with funds appropriated for
15 this purpose on behalf of persons who are infected with the
16 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and are eligible for
17 "continuation coverage" as provided by the federal
18 Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 or
19 group health insurance policies. The Illinois Department of
20 Public Health shall adopt rules to establish income

1 eligibility requirements for participation in this health
2 insurance coverage program. The Illinois Department of Public
3 Health shall also adopt rules and regulations to administer
4 this program that are in compliance with the requirements of
5 the federal Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency
6 Act of 1990.
7 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
8 becoming law.".
