1 AN ACT in relation to civil immunities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by changing
5 Section 5 as follows:
6 (745 ILCS 49/5)
7 Sec. 5. Emergency telephone instructions; exemption from
8 civil liability. No person who gives emergency instructions
9 through a system established under the Emergency Telephone
10 System Act to persons rendering services in an emergency at
11 another location, nor any person following the instructions
12 in rendering the services, is shall be liable for any civil
13 damages as a result of issuing or following the instructions,
14 unless issuing or following the instructions constitutes
15 willful or wanton misconduct.
