92_HB2463 LRB9206282LBmg 1 AN ACT concerning the regulation of professions. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Pharmacy Practice Act of 1987 is amended 5 by changing Section 16 as follows: 6 (225 ILCS 85/16) (from Ch. 111, par. 4136) 7 Sec. 16. The Department shall require and provide for 8 the licensure of every pharmacy doing business in this State. 9 Such licensure shall expire 3010days after the pharmacist 10 in charge dies or leaves the place where the pharmacy is 11 licensed or after such pharmacist's license has been 12 suspended or revoked. 13 In the event the designated pharmacist in charge dies or 14 otherwise ceases to function in that capacity, or when the 15 license of the pharmacist in charge has been suspended or 16 revoked, the owner of the pharmacy shall be required to 17 notify the Department, on forms provided by the Department, 18 of the identity of the new pharmacist in charge. 19 It is the duty of every pharmacist in charge who ceases 20 to function in that capacity to report to the Department 21 within 3010days of the date on which he ceased such 22 functions for such pharmacy. It is the duty of every owner 23 of a pharmacy licensed under this Act to report to the 24 Department within 3010days of the date on which the 25 pharmacist in charge died or ceased to function in that 26 capacity. Failure to provide such notification to the 27 Department shall be grounds for disciplinary action. 28 No license shall be issued to any pharmacy unless such 29 pharmacy has a pharmacist in charge and each such pharmacy 30 license shall indicate on the face thereof the pharmacist in 31 charge. -2- LRB9206282LBmg 1 (Source: P.A. 85-796.)
