92_HB2194 LRB9206037ARsb 1 AN ACT in regard to uniform peace officers. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Uniform Peace Officers' Disciplinary Act 5 is amended by changing Section 3.2 as follows: 6 (50 ILCS 725/3.2) (from Ch. 85, par. 2555) 7 Sec. 3.2. Notice. No officer shall be subjected to 8 interrogation without first being informed in writing of the 9 nature of the investigation and his or her rights under this 10 Act, in person or by certified mail, not less than 3 days 11 before the day of the interrogation, unless this requirement 12 is waived by the officer being interrogated. If an 13 administrative proceeding is instituted, the officer shall be 14 informed beforehand of the names of all complainants. The 15 information shall be sufficient as to reasonably apprise the 16 officer of the nature of the investigation. 17 (Source: P.A. 83-981.) 18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 19 becoming law.
