1 AN ACT with respect to higher education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The University of Illinois at Springfield Law
5 is amended by changing Section 40-5 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 327/40-5)
7 Sec. 40-5. Change of name and status. The State
8 university located at Springfield, Illinois, formerly known
9 as Sangamon State University, shall hereafter be known as the
10 University of Illinois at Springfield, shall be under the
11 governance and control of the Board of Trustees of the
12 University of Illinois, shall be operated by this that Board
13 of Trustees as a branch of the University of Illinois, and,
14 after the effective date of this Article, shall award
15 appropriate degrees in the name of the University of
16 Illinois.
