1 AN ACT in relation to county government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing
5 Section 1-6001 as follows:
6 (55 ILCS 5/1-6001) (from Ch. 34, par. 1-6001)
7 Sec. 1-6001. Venue of suits by or against county. All
8 actions, local or transitory, against any county, may be
9 commenced and prosecuted to final judgment in the circuit
10 court in the county against which the action is brought. Any
11 action, local or transitory, in which a any county is shall
12 be plaintiff, may be commenced and prosecuted to final
13 judgment in the county in which the defendant in such action
14 resides.
