92_HB0690 LRB9206927ARsb 1 AN ACT concerning abortions. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Abortion Law of 1975 is amended 5 by adding Section 6.5 as follows: 6 (720 ILCS 510/6.5 new) 7 Sec. 6.5. Minor resident of another state. 8 (a) In this Section, "minor" means a female under 18 9 years of age. 10 (b) If (i) a minor who is a resident of a state 11 bordering this State comes to this State for the purpose and 12 with the intention of obtaining an abortion and (ii) there is 13 in effect in that other state a law requiring parental 14 consent or parental notification before an abortion may be 15 performed on the minor, then the minor may not obtain an 16 abortion in this State until there is compliance with that 17 parental consent or parental notification law. 18 (c) A minor who is a resident of a state bordering this 19 State, who comes to this State for the purpose and with the 20 intention of obtaining an abortion without parental consent 21 in order to avoid complying with a parental consent or 22 parental notification law of that other state, and who 23 obtains an abortion in this State commits a Class 4 felony. 24 (d) A physician who performs an abortion on a minor, 25 knowing that the minor is a resident of a state bordering 26 this State and has come to this State for the purpose and 27 with the intention of obtaining an abortion without parental 28 consent in order to avoid complying with a parental consent 29 or parental notification law of that other state, commits a 30 Class 4 felony.
