1 AN ACT in relation to highways.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by
5 changing Section 4-508.1 as follows:
6 (605 ILCS 5/4-508.1) (from Ch. 121, par. 4-508.1)
7 Sec. 4-508.1. In the event the Department obtains or has
8 obtained fee simple title to, or any lesser interest in, any
9 land, rights or other property under the provisions of
10 Section 4-508 of this Code in connection with a project
11 involving the planned construction of a federal-aid highway
12 and that project ceases to be a federal-aid project, the
13 Department is authorized to convey title to, or any lesser
14 interest in, all such land, rights or property, regardless of
15 whether any construction has taken place, to the Illinois
16 State Toll Highway Authority for without compensation equal
17 to the fair market value of the title or lesser interest
18 conveyed when such conveyance is approved in writing by the
19 Governor. All moneys resulting from a conveyance under this
20 Section shall be deposited into the Road Fund.
