1 AN ACT to create the Water Conservation Act.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Water Conservation Act.
6 Section 5. Flushometers.
7 (a) Within 5 years after the effective date of this Act,
8 the owner or operator of a building located in the State of
9 Illinois that is open to the public and provides men's
10 restroom facilities must replace any high tanks that supply
11 single or multiple urinals with individual flushometers.
12 (b) A violation of subsection (a) of this Section is a
13 business offense punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,500
14 per high tank.
15 Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding
16 Section 8.25 as follows:
17 (30 ILCS 805/8.25 new)
18 Sec. 8.25. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6
19 and 8 of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required
20 for the implementation of any mandate created by this
21 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly.
