1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by adding
2 Section 5-9-1.12.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
6 adding Section 5-9-1.12 as follows:
7 (730 ILCS 5/5-9-1.12 new)
8 Sec. 5-9-1.12. Fines; Children's Advocacy Centers.
9 (a) In addition to the sentences and penalties provided
10 for in Sections 12-4.3, 12-13, 12-14, 12-14.1, 12-15, and
11 12-16 of the Criminal Code of 1961, the court shall order a
12 person who is convicted of violating any of those Sections to
13 pay a fine of not less than $300 and not more than $1,000
14 payable to the circuit clerk. The circuit clerk shall remit
15 the fine to the county treasurer who shall distribute it to
16 the Children's Advocacy Center of the county in which the
17 offense was committed. The name and address of the
18 Children's Advocacy Center shall be provided to the court by
19 the State's Attorney who prosecuted the offense if that name
20 and address is not known to the court.
21 (b) Fines received by Children's Advocacy Centers under
22 this Section shall be used in the investigation of sexual
23 crimes, violence against children, and counseling for victims
24 and their families who have been sexually or physically
25 abused.
