The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by 5 changing Section 5 as follows: 6 (415 ILCS 120/5) 7 Sec. 5. Purpose. The General Assembly declares that 8 it is the public policy of the State to promote and encourage 9 the use of alternate fuel in vehicles as a means to improve 10 air quality in thistheState and to meet the requirements of 11 the federal Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the federal 12 Energy Policy Act of 1992. The General Assembly further 13 declares that the State can play a leadership role in the 14 development of vehicles powered by alternate fuels, as well 15 as in the establishment of the necessary infrastructure to 16 support this emerging technology. 17 (Source: P.A. 89-410.)".
