Senate Sponsors: RAUSCHENBERGER. Short description: WRK COMP-24 HR HEALTH INSURNCE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Workers' Compensation Act and the Workers' Occupational Diseases Act. Provides that an employer may elect coverage and retain the benefit of the exclusiveness of liability under the Acts by obtaining a 24-hour health insurance policy meeting specified criteria or participating in a fully or partially self-insured 24-hour health plan meeting specified criteria. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that a 24-hour policy described in the bill as introduced may not require the employee to pay a portion of the medical care in the case of any accidental injury, disease, or disablement to which the Acts apply. Provides that a death benefit under such a policy shall have a death benefit comparable to those provided under the Acts (rather than a death benefit of $100,000).
