Provides that law enforcement use of eavesdropping devices in response to emergency situations is exempt from the article concerning eavesdropping. Defines "emergency situation". SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes provison that permits the use of an eavesdropping device by a law enforcement officer during an emergency response to a loca- tion that is occupied by force or threat of the imminent use of force. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Adds an introductory clause to the bill. Corrects a grammatical error in the title of the bill by changing "Section" to "Sections". SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 3. Provides that a law enforcement officer may use an eavesdropping device during an emergency police response to a location that is occupied by force or the threat of imminent use of force and either the occupant is threatening suicide or the occupant has committed a felony outside the location and, in fresh pursuit by a law enforcement officer, has barricaded himself or herself in the location.
