Senate Sponsors: PARKER. Short description: CHILD SUPPORT-ESCROW ACCOUNT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act. Provides that if a non-custodial parent paying child support under a court order believes the custodial parent is not spending enough money to support the minor child, the non-custodial parent may petition the court to order the custodial parent to account for spending on the child's behalf for a designated recent period of time, and the court may order an accounting if it finds an accounting is in the best interest of the minor child. Provides that if the accounting reveals that the custodial parent is not providing proper support for the child, the court, in the best interest of the child, may order that an escrow account be established into which child support payments paid by the non-custodial parent shall be deposited.
