Senate Sponsors: RAUSCHENBERGER-BURZYNSKI-DEMUZIO-HALVORSON Short description: H ED-TRACK FACULTY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Urges the Board of Higher Education to review the dependence on part-time and nontenure-track faculty in Illinois colleges and universities. Requires each public university and community college governing board to provide a report to the Board of Higher Education regarding use and compensation of part-time and nontenure-track faculty, with the Board of Higher Education compiling the reports and providing them to the General Assembly. Requires the Board of Higher Education to consider policies designed to discourage overreliance on part-time and nontenure-track faculty and to make recommendations concerning the establishment of minimum salary and fringe benefits provisions indexed to tenure-track faculty compensation for part-time and nontenure-track faculty.
