House Sponsors: WOJCIK. Senate Sponsors: KARPIEL Short description: ABATE PROP SUBLET BY PARK DIST Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that, for taxable years 2000 and thereafter, all property leased by a park district from a municipality that is sublet from the park district by any entity for the sole purpose of establishing and maintaining recreational facilities or parking lots used exclusively for those facilities is exempt. Provides that if the sublessee is not an exempt entity, a leasehold assessment shall be made on the property. Provides that any taxing district may abate, for not more than 20 years, any portion of its taxes on any property in the taxing district that is subject to a leasehold assessment and which is sublet from a park district that is leasing the property from a municipality, but only if the property is used exclusively for recreational facilities or for parking lots used exclusively for those facilities. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 35 ILCS 200/18-165 30 ILCS 805/8.24 new Deletes everything. Amends the Property Tax Code. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning exemptions for parks and conservation districts. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Deletes reference to: 35 ILCS 200/15-105 Adds reference to: 35 ILCS 200/18-165 30 ILCS 805/8.24 new Deletes everything. Amends the Property Tax Code.
