Short description: 
CD CORR-AGGRAVATED ARSON-85%                                               

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Unified Code of Corrections.  Provides that a prisoner      
   serving a sentence for aggravated arson shall receive no more than 4.5      
   days of good conduct credit for each month of his or her  sentence  of      
   imprisonment.    Provides  that  the  court  must  impose  consecutive      
   sentences for offenses that were committed as part of a single  course      
   of  conduct during which there was no substantial change in the nature      
   of the criminal  object  when  one  of  the  offenses  for  which  the      
   defendant  was convicted was first degree murder or a Class X or Class      
   1 felony and the defendant inflicted severe bodily injury  during  the      
   commission of any of these offenses.  Effective January 1, 2001.

          There would be a corrections population impact of an additional      
          125 inmates with a fiscal impact of $14,951,100 in increased         
          costs over 10 years from the date of enactment.
