Senate Sponsors: CRONIN-PARKER Short description: SEXUALLY VIOLENT-RELEASE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act. Includes in the definition of "sexually violent offense" the former crimes of rape, deviate sexual assault, indecent liberties with a child, and aggravated indecent liberties with a child. Provides that at the trial on the petition to have the person declared a sexually violent person, evidence is admissible of other crimes and punishments imposed. Establishes conditions of conditional release of a sexually violent person. Establishes procedures for revocation of conditional release. Makes other changes. Effective immediately. FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Corrections) There would be no impact on the corrections population and the fiscal impact to the Department would be $2,100,000 over 10 years from the date of enactment.
