Increases the maximum fine for a first offense for certain violations of the Act from $500 to $1,000 and imposes a cap of $5,000 for second or subsequent such violations. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: 235 ILCS 5/10-1 Adds reference to: 235 ILCS 5/7-5 from Ch. 43, par. 149 Deletes everything. Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Increases the amount of the fine that may be imposed by a local liquor control commissioner upon a licensee for a violation of the Act or of a valid ordinance or resolution or of a rule or regulation established by the local liquor control commission or the State Commission from $1,000 per violation to $2,000 per violation. Increases the maximum dollar amount of such fines that may be imposed upon a licensee during the period of his or her license from $10,000 to $20,000. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Further amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Changes the fine that may be imposed by a local liquor control commissioner upon a licensee for a violation of the Act or for a violation of a valid ordinance or resolution or of a rule or regulation established by the local liquor control commission or the State Commission from $2,000 per violation to $1,000 for a first violation within a 12-month period, $1,500 for a second violation within a 12-month period, and $2,500 for a third or subsequent violation within a 12-month period. Reduces the maximum dollar amount of such fines that may be imposed upon a licensee during the period of his or her license from $20,000 to $15,000.
