Short description: CONSUMR FRAUD-REFUNDS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act to require that when a consumer returns merchandise for which cash was paid, if a refund is due, the refund must be in cash. Provides that other refunds must be in the same manner as the payment. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that a refund to a consumer who purchased merchandise by check is not due until the check is honored by the bank on which the check is drawn. Provides that the consumer has the right to accept a refund in a form different from the original payment.
