Short description: 
MOTOR FUEL FUND-RR WALKWAYS                                                

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Motor Fuel Tax Law.   Provides  that  in  addition  to      
   other  uses,  money  in  the  Motor  Fuel Tax Fund may be used for the      
   construction or maintenance of a pedestrian walkway over  or  under  a      
   railroad right-of-way.  Effective immediately.                              
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          625 ILCS 5/18c-7401             from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 18c-7401       
        Amends the Motor  Fuel  Tax  Law.   Provides  that  the  Illinois      
   Commerce Commission shall not order more than $2,000,000 per year from      
   the  Grade  Crossing  Protection Fund (into which money from the Motor      
   Fuel Tax Fund has been deposited) to be used for pedestrian  walkways.      
   Amends  the Illinois Vehicle Code.  Provides that no public pedestrian      
   walkway may be constructed across any railroad track without the prior      
   permission of the Illinois Commerce  Commission.   Provides  that  the      
   Commission  has  the  power to order reconstruction, minor alteration,      
   minor relocation, or improvement of any railroad crossing  across  any      
   pedestrian  bridge  or  pedestrian  subway  (as  well  as any railroad      
   crossing over any highway or public road).
