House Sponsors: NOVAK. Short description: MOBILE HOME OMBUDSMAN-BOARD Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Mobile Home Landlord and Tenant Rights Act to create the Mobile Home Park Ombudsman. Provides that the Ombudsman is appointed by the Director of Public Health and shall be an employee of the Department of Public Health. Provides that the Ombudsman shall receive and investigate complaints related to the Act. Makes a violation of the Act a Class C misdemeanor. Creates the Mobile Home Park Owner's and Tenant's Advisory Board to consult and advise the Department of Public Health. Amends the Mobile Home Park Act to require an application fee for a mobile home park license of $100 plus $5 for each mobile home space in the park (currently, $100 and $3 for each space). Provides for a $5 license fee for each space added to a mobile home park after original issuance of the license (currently, $6 for each space added later). Provides that funds received from license fees for mobile home parks shall be deposited in the Facility Licensing Fund (instead of the State Treasury). Effective immediately.
