Short description: POWER OUTAGE DAMAGES Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Public Utilities Act with respect to electric utilities serving 1,000,000 or more customers. Abolishes the requirement that 30,000 customers be affected before a utility is required to compensate customers for power outages. Provides that if a power interruption lasts for 24 hours or more, a utility must pay consequential damages. Effective immediately.
