Provides that a police officer, a deputy sheriff, an elected sheriff, a law enforcement officer from the Department of State Police, or a fire investigator may elect to use the address of the government entity for which the officer works instead of his or her residence address when applying for vehicle registration with the Secretary of State. Provides that if his or her employment as a police officer, deputy sheriff, elected sheriff, law enforcement officer, or fire investigator with the government entity ceases, he or she must notify the Secretary of State within 10 days with his or her new address. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Further amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that when an officer who elects to provide the address of the headquarters of the government entity or police district for his or her vehicle registration instead of his or her personal residency that address shall be deemed to be his or her residence address for all purposes under the Chapter concerned with vehicle registration (instead of all of the Illinois Vehicle Code). SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the spouse or child of a person who may elect to furnish the address of the headquarters of the government entity or police district where he or she works instead of his or her residential address may also elect to furnish the address of the headquarters of the government entity or police district of his or her spouse or parent as his or her residence address.
