Senate Sponsors: DONAHUE-MYERS,J-BURZYNSKI-OBAMA-MOLARO Short description: DHS-WORK TRAINING-CHILD CARE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the "Education, Training, and Employment Program for TANF Recipients" Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that families that are income-eligible for child care services and that are not recipients of TANF shall be eligible to receive child care assistance for the same range of work and training activities as are available to recipients of TANF and shall be subject to no more restrictive criteria than are applicable to recipients of TANF. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes everything. Amends the "Education, Training, and Employment Program for TANF Recipients" Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall allocate $7,500,000 annually for a child care test program for families who are income-eligible for child care assistance, who are not recipients of TANF under Article IV, and who need child care assistance to participate in education and training activities.
