Senate Sponsors: OBAMA-PARKER-WALSH,L-TROTTER Short description: DAGING-DHS-CARE SERVICES WAGES Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging by providing that vendors of homemaker and chore housekeeper services shall receive a rate increase equal to the percent increase in the federal minimum wage each time the federal minimum wage is increased. Amends the Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Act by providing that personal care attendants shall receive a percentage increase in wages equal to the percent increase in the federal minimum wage each time the federal minimum wage is increased. Effective July 1, 1999. FISCAL NOTE (Department on Aging) If minimum wage was adjusted to $6.15/hour, cost would be $30 million for FY2000.
