House Sponsors: HARTKE. Short description: PARENTAGE-DNA-NON-EXISTENCE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Parentage Act of 1984. Provides that a complaint or motion to declare the non-existence of the parent and child relationship may be made after any adjudication of paternity under a law of this State or in an action in this State to enforce a paternity judgment of any other jurisdiction in which the man was adjudicated to be the father of a child if, as a result of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests, it is discovered that the man adjudicated to be the father is not the natural father of the child. Amends provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure regarding relief from judgments to create an exception for certain actions to declare the non-existence of the parent and child relationship.
