Short description: VEH CD-TRAFFIC STOP STUDY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that the Department of State Police and all local law enforcement agencies shall compile specified data on traffic stops between the dates of July 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999 and send the data to the Secretary of State by July 1, 2000. Provides that the Secretary of State shall send a report on traffic stops by December 31, 2000 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate. Effective immediately. FISCAL NOTE (Illinois State Police) There would be a fiscal impact upon the Ill. State Police of $300,000 for system enhancements. STATE MANDATES NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs) Creates a local government organization and structure mandate for which reimbursement is not required.
